Called and rated a wonderful place by many, lodging on Isle au Haut provides small groups with an experience of a lifetime. Dispite the fact that there is limited water, electricity, and only 79 year-round residents, many inns on Isle au Haut are given five-star rated reviews. Originally the Keeper's House Inn was the only bed and breakfast until the Inn at Isle au Haut opened five years ago. Five-star service starts at the Inn at Isle au Haut as soon as you are greeted by the inn keeper, Diana. Upon arrival she presents guests with blueberry lemonade and truffels. All meals are cooked with fresh vegetables from her garden and she makes one feel right at home. By day, one can explore the untouched nature on the beach or the inland forests and bogs. One guest that stayed at the Inn at Isle au Haut referred to the inn as a "little jewel in paradise."
The Keeper's House Inn and Cottage rental on Isle au Haut, though no longer operational, was another beautiful bed and breakfast on the island. The Keeper's House Inn and Cottage is located on two acers of land, over looking the ocean. The inn included a seven bedroom main house with two baths, a four room house with one bath, two small heated cabins, two storage buildings, a large boathouse, pier, ramp, floating dock, and boat moring. It is now for sale for 2.2 million dollars.
Recently, we had our own amazing experience on Isle au Haut. A group of High School students, including ourselves, visited both of the two beautiful Inns on the island. The Keeper's House, run by owners, Jeff and Judi, includes a huge main house with three smaller cabins - all of which have amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean. To top it off, the Inn owners were full of hospitality, catering to our every need. The Inn at Isle au Haut, a fifteen minute drive from The Keeper's House, is a gourmet all inclusive bed and breakfast. The five course meals at the inn are all freshly made daily for high-class taste buds. The prices range from 300 to 400 dollars per night, per person. Although the prices seem high, it is definitely well worth it with the stunning views, welcoming staff and top of the line comfort.
All in all, whenever you need a quiet escape, Isle au Haut is the place to go. While there, you have two choices between the interesting lodging accommodations on the island, each providing different and unique experience. You will not regret your stay at any of these spectacular Inns!
